Comfort Food

I'm at one of those times when I have to just sit and eat/drink to collect my thoughts and be on my way. I usually go about drinking something warm (warm drinks = comfort; for me at least) but sometimes, it doesn't just go away with a warm drink. I need that Tea. Yep, this blog is a special tea recipe of mine and for those coffee lovers, please try this tea once and you'll never want to go back to caffeinated drinks ever again. First, please note my recipe calls for ingredients not commonly used and the method is little unorthodox but I assure you, it's all healthy and mouth-watering at the same time.

Prep Time: 5min
Cook Time: 15min

Ingredients:
Tea Powder (I prefer 3 Roses or Taj Mahal)
Sugar - 4 teaspoons (Skip if diabetic)
Milk - 250ml
Water - 100ml
Hibiscus rosasinensis' petals (Shoe-flower petals and only the petals!)
Cardamom cloves - 3
Ginger (Optional for headache or cold)

Method:

1. Switch on the Stove. Boil the milk well(any vessel that's deep) and keep removing the malai(creamy layer) until it starts forming big bubbles.

2. Add 3-4 teaspoons of tea powder and sugar into the boiling milk and wait for it to change colour.

3. Add Shoe-flower petals and cardamom cloves after rinsing them with water well.

4. Peel off the ginger skin and wash well. Mash the ginger and add it to the boiling tea too. (Optional)

5. Add water whenever the milk raises until all 100ml is done and then switch the stove off.

6. Filter the contents and strain the tea in two cups and have a sip after 5min to not burn the tongue. (Burnt tongue can't taste)

It's a simple recipe that you can whip up any time anywhere and let me tell you the actual benefits of drinking tea (not regularly)
a) It has flavonoids that help in heart health.
b) Goodbye to Stress, Headache and Tiredness.
c) An Appetizer without all the grandeur.
d) Up for some more tasks - keeps your mind active.

Now, its time for me to make my own tea :)
